Designing a quarry, renting an excavator for quarry work

on

Recently, hydraulic excavators for mining have become more and more popular for mining. This is due to the fact that hydraulic excavators have a significant advantage over rope excavators.

  • Working hours are kept to a minimum
  • Higher digging force
  • The movement of the bucket has a wide range of trajectory
  • Quality ladle filling
  • Hydraulic shovels are smaller than rope shovels but provide the same bottom-hole forces
  • With the same ladle volumes, a caterpillar hydraulic excavator has a mass almost two times less, than a rope excavator
  • Have increased manoeuvrability and mobility
  • Thanks to the hydraulic drive, you can even work on sites with a slope of up to 15°

What determines the quality of the work of an excavator with soil?

The quality work of a crawler excavator in a quarry depends not so much on the complexity of the site but on the types and properties of the soil with which it will be necessary to work. Before renting a crawler excavator, make sure you have a clear understanding of the types of earth that you need to work with. Having full information about the types of soil, the operator will be able to more correctly determine what performance of the excavator can be expected and what additional attachments may be needed in the process.

A Caterpillar excavator digs a quarry sequentially, moving from the finished part of the structure to the untreated one. When moving to the next level, the work area is covered by the maximum achievable range of equipment. This area is also called slaughter.

The excavator operator determines the dimensions of the face in such a way that at the output it has maximum productivity in the shortest possible time to complete the work. It is also worth noting that unfavourable conditions in the face can somewhat slow down the work of special equipment, thereby increasing the time in the quarry.

When digging a quarry, the excavator does a huge part of the job of loading rocks into dump trucks. This is due to the fact that in earthworks such as embankments and dams, it is required to lay rocks especially taken from quarries, and not those that are located next to the structure.
